The EMA Husbandry Committee seeks to provide the EMA membership with up-to-date husbandry information. We focus on the husbandry needs of newborn calves to geriatric adults and everything in between. We hope to encourage an open forum where members can share information regarding elephant husbandry and the most common practices when it comes to caring for elephants.


Husbandry Committee Goals:

  • Maintaining a Husbandry Database of what tools the community is using and where to find them.
  • Sharing information with our members through JEMA articles and short features in Gray Matters.
  • Hosting virtual husbandry and training workshops. (Next one on August 4!)
  • Surveying members to ensure we are providing resources in the areas that matter most.
  • Exploring new ideas to share training resources with the community.
